For early year’s practitioners, parents and carers are the most important people we will work with regarding the children as they have been with them since an early age and will have instilled a good routine for their child. It’s important for all parties involved that these routines are followed as close as possible because the child will feel comfortable and be willing to attend the setting, and the parents will be happy to leave their child, and staff will know what is expected of them for the child.

When a child is registered a care plan will be recorded by parents. We will also know what nappies are used, the cream if any and this will help us look after the child properly. The benefits for the early years practitioner is they build a relationship with the child and parent/carer as when the child is dropped off or collected they are able to share stories with the parents and tell them if anything has happened that day with regards to toileting.
